Programs at Aspire House
Aspire House gives an opportunity to its members to work—on their health and well-being,
job training, and education—in a constructive, supportive environment. Members have
the opportunity for social interactions and shared activities that support their growth.
The Work-Ordered Day
Aspire House provides meaningful work for all members through a structure that we call "The Work-Ordered Day." During business hours, members and staff work together as colleagues to run the programs and do the day-to-day work associated with maintaining the programs. Members volunteer according to their interests.
Transitional & Supportive Employment
Aspire House contracts with employers, trains members to do the job required, and assures that a member or staff person fulfills the commitment. When ready, members may move on to Supported Employment to get help applying for and acquiring a job of their own.
Community Support
Aspire House supports members in acquiring affordable housing; critical technology tools; low-cost nutritious meals; good mental and physical health habits; government disability benefits; and other needed services.
Social, Wellness, & Recreational Programs
Aspire House schedules structured and non-structured social activities for the members outside the Work-Ordered Day. On evenings and weekends, members and staff have the opportunity to get to know each other, make friends, explore interests, and have fun.
Educational Opportunities
Each day staff and members work together to run Aspire House programs. They participate in meetings, create agendas, choose work assignments, and help new members learn the ropes by performing the work side-by-side. Sample assignments can be found below:
Personal Connections
Part of the daily work of Aspire House involves keeping track of members' participation and building community. If a member does not attend Aspire House for a while, a reach-out communication or visit is made to let the member know that he or she is missed. Teams also visit local hospitals to develop relationships, and invite others to join.

Aspire House is the hope for a happier, healthier and more productive future.

I joined the Clubhouse about two weeks ago. So far, it has helped me meet people and prepare for finding a new job. My parents heard about the Clubhouse and told me about it. I’m excited to try and find work and start my computer class online, which the Clubhouse has helped me with. I’d tell my friends what’s great about the Clubhouse is there are social outings and games and after I’ve been at the Clubhouse, I feel good when I go home. I like to come Monday through Friday.

I became a member in 2015 and came in and out of the Clubhouse for several years. I recently felt pulled to return to the Clubhouse as I was feeling unhappy and facing some mental roadblocks. It’s been great to be back and see how far our Clubhouse has come. Coming again has helped me stay busy and given me a renewed sense of purpose. It feels good to be surrounded by personable people and have a place to go where I feel embraced instead of judged.

We first heard about the Clubhouse through DABS. We feel the Clubhouse gives our son, Nolan (pictured) a sense of camaraderie and a schedule of events to look forward to weekly. He lives in a group home where the other residents do not provide a lot of conversation so coming to the Clubhouse allows for him to make friends and go on frequent social outings as well as learn and practice new computer skills like typing. We would strongly recommend the Clubhouse to other families as we think it offers a lot of opportunities.

The Clubhouse has helped my son Leo (pictured) feel more connected to a community and reduced his loneliness. It also helps his social skills as well. I would tell prospective family members to go for it and be supportive as it can offer so much to your loved one.
