Countdown to Giving Day 2026
This month, Aspire House is counting down to the Clubhouse Giving Day Campaign. We proudly join Clubhouse International and its clubhouses worldwide in raising funds and awareness for our model of mental health care that truly transforms lives. The clubhouse model has decades of proven success and is more important than ever.
Juliana Fuerbringer founded Aspire House in 2015 to serve San Mateo County. Aspire House is not a clinic or a program. It is a community. Here, members participate in a work-ordered day, connect with one another, and contribute to a continuum of care. Our approach is rooted in dignity and purpose.
We rely on donations from people like you. Your support provides healthy meals, daily routines, job training, and educational and cultural enrichment for Aspire House members. When you give, members learn practical skills, find jobs, and develop lasting friendships. These programs matter as California reshapes its mental health system, by directing more resources toward acute care, housing, and court-connected services. Aspire House fills the gap for people who need ongoing structure, employment support, and belonging that goes beyond crisis intervention. Your donation ultimately helps members build full and meaningful lives.
San Mateo County will have increased accountability for achieving results. The high cost of living and COVID continue to strain county resources. County leaders report $157 million in total unpaid local vehicle license fees from the state, threatening crucial community services. The possibility of losing that money makes Giving Day even more important for our community.
Last year, 44 clubhouses and more than 600 donors came together to raise over $193,000, surpassing the previous year by $42,000. This year, we will build on that momentum right here in San Mateo County and beyond.
Throughout the month, we will be sharing stories and a closer look at the people and work that make Aspire House special. Follow along, and please consider making a donation or spreading the word. We thank every donor who makes this work possible. In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Giving Day Campaign begins April 27 and runs through May 31, 2026.
