Member Spotlight: Susan B.

Susan went to her first social outing with 12 other members, at the Japanese Tea Garden, located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The group had lunch at the Blue Heron Lake Boathouse and then shuttled to the garden. While taking photographs, she enjoyed time with friends, old and new––a lovely bonding experience.

Susan hosted the Birthday Social with Naliah and Sam. They enjoyed Taco Bell, birthday cake, music, karaoke, playing pool and bingo. Fifteen people had fun listening to the Beach Boy’s music while playing bingo. Prizes included mini-golf passes, snack bar gift certificates and a ride in Sam’s truck. Camille, Ivy, and Rick celebrated their birthdays and received gift cards.

Later that month, Susan hosted the Wunderlich Park hike social. She also contributed to the Paint-and-Art social, and attended two tabling events at the Ecumenical Hunger Project and the Heart and Soul picnic. Susan has been a force in planning and participating in Aspire House social events–extending hospitality and helping others get connected. Sometimes a member volunteers to be responsible for a social in a month, Susan was responsible for six!
